ECHD 173 - EARLY CHILD CURRICULUM |
There are no prerequisites or corequisites required for this course. This course focuses on the planning and execution of developmentally appropriate thematic units of study and lesson plans that teach the whole child birth-4yrs. The impact of the setting, materials, and the development of the child on developing appropriate instructional strategies will be explored. Students will practice creating thematic units of study, lesson plans, and activity development focusing on the following areas of study: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. An attention to the integration of teaching literacy through STEM will also be pursued. A professional file of applicable professional ideas and materials will be created.
