MATH R20 - ELEMENTARY ALGEBRA REVIEW |
Prerequisite: A score in the range of 38-48 on the Algebra
Domain of the COMPASS placement test in Mathematics.
This developmental course is intended to prepare the student
for success in college-level study and does not count in
credit hours earned or toward the fulfillment of degree
requirements.
This course is designed for those students whose score on
the algebra domain of the COMPASS placement test indicates
some knowledge of algebra, but insufficient skill for
success in college-level mathematics courses. Course
content includes a review of basic algebraic concepts
including solving linear equations, graphing linear
equations, factoring, polynomial operations, integer
exponents, and radicals. The course meets for one week (5
days, 3 hours per day) preceding the start of the fall
semester. A retest of the COMPASS placement test will be
given on the last day of class. For billing purposes, this
is considered a one credit course.
