ARTS 276 - TYPOGRAPHY
PPrerequisite: ARTS-246 Visual Design I This course facilitates an understanding of the effects produced by fonts and typographic techniques used in contemporary visual design. Using a combination of traditional and digital media, students will learn a historical overview of typography and explore the formal qualities of characters and typefaces through a range of theoretical and applied projects. The creative problem-solving process is used to develop skills in typesetting, typographic layout, the expressive use of type and conceptual thinking. Students will purchase some art supplies.
